Error 100a when attempting to recover from partition.

I went from the factory settings -> original Vista -> XP -> original Vista. Regardless, I'm having the same problem with the system not detecting my wireless card at times. Now, I want to start over and see if I'm missing something.

I'm trying to recover from the partition, but I get "Error 100a". Any ideas?

Re: Error 100a when attempting to recover from partition.

Most likely due to an extended partition on the drive. Here is how to solve it:

Open up a command prompt from the PE menu

type in the following:

diskpart
select disk 0
list partition
verify partition information
(0 is generally and extended partition
1 is generally the recovery partition
2 is generally the production os)

select partition 2
delete partition
select partition 0
delete partition

reboot.

Note: Make sure you do not delete the factory restore partition itself
