Battery appears to be dead

[ Edited ]

I have had my Pavilion zd8000 for 1 1/2 years, while the battery life has never been anything to brag about, it is now completely "dead" the moment that the laptop is disconnected from electricity, losing all data that I am working on. This is very frustrating. Can this battery be replaced? Is it a warranty item? Please advise

Re: Battery appears to be dead

I'm fairly certain it's replaceable given the fairly new laptop.

I don't know if it's under warranty.

Contact HP:

http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html

Before you call, you might want to check it against the battery recall list.

First, get your correct model number from the sticker:

Then compare it against this list:

Re: Battery appears to be dead

Kim, in my experience, it is normal for laptop batterys to need replacement after about 2 years.
