Omnibook 4150 BIOS, USB, COM Port Drivers

I updated the BIOS to ver.7.13 and re-installed WinXP (new installation) on the 4150 (not 4150b) and still the USB port is not visible in Device Manager and the COM port is not working. On bootup there is no display whether the BIOS was successfully updated. I also mistakenly removed the hibernation and diagnostic partition. What actions should I take and which files can I use of the W98SE recovery disk to fix above problems, and after rectification do I need to re-install WinXP Pro?

Upon boot-up, hit F2 to take you into BIOS setup. You can see the BIOS version there. You do not need a separate hibernation partition with XP.

Re: Omnibook 4150 BIOS, USB, COM Port Drivers

BIOS was not successfully updated as I used 4150b713.exe via the WinXP update link instead of 41500713.exe via the Win2000 link. Now everything is working fine without even re-installing WinXp Pro after the BIOS update.
