HP 4150 Omnibook Monitor Settings

How do I ajust the settings so that the desktop covers the entire monito screen?

If you mean the LCD display there is no way, but to change the resolution. Click mouse right button and choose "propeties", click "settings" tab. Resolution can be set at left down corner.

Check that you have the correct video driver installed (and not VGA driver).
