My son has given me his laptop to try and repair. He walked out the door while the thing was still plugged in, and yanked the female half of the power adapter connector out of the laptop.
There are 3 wires still attached to the motherboard, 2 black & 1 red, arranged in a triangle like this
I would like to know which are pos & which neg, so I can try soldering the power input wires direct to the MB. Not very portable, but still functional.
The red wire is not the center wire, one of the black wires is, but since I don't have the female half to look at, I can't be certain that center is necessarily the pos terminal.
Any help appreciated.
