When I’ am trying to update Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Preview on a HP EliteBook 8560w laptop, I’ am get this error message: “Before you update to Windows 8.1 Preview, uninstall these apps: HP ProtectTools Security manager, HP WebCam”.
The Hp ProtectTools Security Manager 220.127.116.111 is installed with Password manager and Credential Manager.
Anyone had this problem and fixed it yet?

I am seeing this same message when trying tupgrade my elitebook revolve 810 G1. Is it OK to allow it to uninstall? Also, when I tell it yes, it says another 4-5 items that have to be uninstalled because they use the HP protect tools.

same problem here with probook 6360b.
I tried new install and uninstall but 8.1 update still want uninstall hp security manger no matter that I dont have it.
Now, It is not in my lists of installed programs but it is still in metro menu. This have no sense but windows had to have some problem with total uninstall.
Is there some fix for total uninstall HP security manger ?
