i am not sure which drivers are installed, but i recommend that you would begin installing the correct drivers for the note book from this link

Please try the latest drivers (not on the HP site yet!)
you can find them at the following FTP server:

I found many Mediatek WiFi-s have problems like random dicsonnecting, high ping to gateway, and similar.
Seems Mediatek MT7630E is faulty and need to be replaced with
717381-001 Intel dual-band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi and BT4.0 WLAN adapter
Well, that is compatible exchange.
Wish you luck :)

I had found this problem very long ago and addressed it to HP. I worked with HP to get another part added to the list of usable replacement parts that work with the 450G1. The part is an SPS-WLAN 802.11 BGN ATH HMC. HP part number is: 690019-001. Make sure you uninstall the old Media tech driver before you install the new wireless card. Hook the laptop to the internet via the NIC and let the computer start up with the new wireless card and Windows will auto installs the current drivers. I have done this in a number of 450G1’s running windows 7 and it has worked every time.
