HP 6530b ethernet driver for XP

I am trying to downgrade the above laptop from Vista to XP and am having driver issues. Does anybody have a driver for the on board ethernet port? I downloaded the one from the HP website but it fails to run giving me the following error message :

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

If I try to unpack the driver again the laptop blue screens and reboots.

Any ideas or a resolution would be greatly appreciated.

You do know that after install of OS, the next driver to install is the chipset then everything else?

Yep, I did that. It looks to me that there may be an issue with the driver package itself as it's not reporting a hardware problem but that the program is not configured correctly.

Having spoken to HP I have resolved this now. There was a problem with the package on the driver page.

You can get the unpackaged driver direct from Broadcom at the link below.
