Clone HDD before first boot?

I placed an order for a pre-configured "Smart Buy" HP Elitebook 2540p. It comes with a 250 GB 5400 rpm 1.8" HDD which I plan to replace with a 160 GB Intel X-18M SSD.

Is it possible to take-out the original factory-fresh 250 GB HDD and clone it before the first boot unto the 160 GB SSD without any of the SSD partition alignment problems that I have been reading so much about?

You may ask, why do I want to do this? I would like to have the factory-fresh first boot experience with the SSD.
