8710P + EN489AA Advanced Docking Station

When docking the notebook two USB devices attempt to load drivers but fail.

These two devices have the following device Instance ID:
- USB\VID_04B4&PID_6560\5&4C21142&0&2
- USB\VID_04B4&PID_6560\5&4C21142&0&4

In Device Manager I have observed that these two devices are attempting to connect via "Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A" >> "USB Root Hub".

I have installed:
- sp36627.exe to revert to default settings;
- sp36880.exe Intel Chipset Drivers;
- sp41953.exe to latest BIOS; and
- sp42660.exe USB2 Docking Station Driver.

I've tried disabling and uninstalling "Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A" without success.

I've also attempted changing from "Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A" to "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" without success.

I have rebooted the notebook between each test.

I'm now back to "Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 283A".

Any suggestions will be sincerely appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: 8710P + EN489AA Advanced Docking Station

I eventually got the 8710P notebook to load the needed "USB Generic Driver" as follows:

I located an 8710P notebook which already worked on the same docking station.

I then copied all files starting with "USB" from the "C:\Windows\inf" folder of that 8710P notebook computer onto a flash drive.

I then pointed the attempted driver install at the flash drive for "Search for Driver".
