Travel battery blocking intake exhaust fan on 8510p / 8510w

[ Edited ]

Has anyone noticed this? When inserting this battery (HP Li-Ion 8-Cell Common Travel Battery (PB993UT) onto the bottom of one of these HP Compaq notebooks, it covers about 98% of the intake exhaust.

I noticed this when I was troubleshooting another issue with the screen going black (posted in these forums). I thought maybe it was an overheating issue.

There is a small grate on the bottom of the battery, which lines up with the notebooks exhaust grate, but it seems like this would just make it worse.

Thoughts?
