Short DST failed! 6735s

Hello all,
I have a 6735s laptop and out of the blue today it wont boot except in safe mode, i did the hard disk ckecks in the bios and it says that it failed the "short DST" whatever that is. Is there anything i can do to fix this or is it time to make use of the warranty?? I've only had it 8months so am surprised it's died already!!! Please help!

This is the failure of your HDD.

If it is still under warranty, send it back and HP should replace you with a new HDD.

Unfortunately, you most likely will loss all your personal data when HP gives you a brand new HDD with factory image.
