Optical USB mouse not working with HP 6530b laptop

My optical USB mouse has stopped working suddenly. It works for 10-15 seconds when I connect the mouse to laptop but afterwords it goes dead. Red light on the bottom of the mouse is on but it will not work. The same mouse works well with my other dell laptop. Do anybody has idea what could be wrong.

Hi,

I would uninstall its driver then plug it back to allow Windows "find new device" and re-install driver.

my mouse that is built into  my laptop just quit working a yellow light appears
