In BIOS there is something called Multi Boot, but when pressing F9 the menu comes only with 2 items, Optical Drive or Notebook HD
How to boot this (otherwise nice) notebook from a USB (key or HD)

Enable/disable USB legacy support in BIOS.
When enabled, USB legacy support
allows the following:
Startup from bootable USB devices, including a hard drive, diskette drive,
or optical drive connected by a USB port to the computer or to an optional
docking device (select models only).
That is a seriously weired implementation of legacy USB support
