Elitebook 2730p touch screen not working

hi!

i have an elitebook 2730p, and for some reason the screen isn't detecting the pen. it was before, but then i updated some drivers and software and now no go. any thoughts on what i might need to do to get my tablet to be a tablet again? is there a setting somewhere that maybe got switched off? or something?

I can get the pen to work, but not the touch screen. 

I've tried every update (WIN and HP) and I've even tried Windows 8 and Ubuntu with it.  Nothing plays nicely, this is quite frustrating.  One reason I got this was as an ereader, and not having touch cabablity means it's awkward to change pages.

The wacom router mouse has never run correctly, always Code 10, device will not run.... on 3 different OSes.

Calling this laptop a convertible touch tablet is a bit misleading.

If anyone has a fix for this, I'm all ears.  I've thrown a lot of hours into it and cannot get it to play nice.

2730p doesn't support finger touch, works only with pen,
