Currently I am running NNMi 9.01 in linux environment. It was installed by an engineer who has left the company.
I was able to find the postgress database username and reset the password in order to provide the required information for integration.
I am still having problems to find the correct port to conenct to. I checked the configuration file and these are the ports defined in file /opt/OV/misc/nnm/props/local/nms-local.proper
Only ports which it tried to connect are 8083, all others, I got error right away.
with 8083, it is timing out. So do not know which port to use.
SHR created URL to connect to NNMi server.
Here is the URL construction: jdbc:postgresql://usplsvulx127.elabs.eds.com:8083

It looks like you are using the default port 80. Try either:
where <server> is the server running NNMi
Also, make sure all services are running by issuing the command "ovstatus -v"

Let me first admit that I don't know the integration with SHR nor have I read the documentation :)
In your post you provided this connection string: " jdbc:postgresql://usplsvulx127.elabs.eds.com:8083"
It looks like you're not trying to connect to the NNMi Web Services (in that case you'll need the configured http port, 80 in your case) but instead, you're actually trying to connect to the embedded Postgres database.
If you're trying to connect to Postgres then you might want to try the default Postgres port 5432.
If you're trying to connect to Postgres from another server (not the NNMi server) then you will need to configure this file: http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.3/static/auth-pg-
