Hello Expert;

I noticed that when I get the THRESHOLD exceeded events I do not get from which interface the ifutil has been exceeded please let us know which variable attribute we can use. I tried the below configuration in "Event Configuration Message Format" but did not get what excepted.

Event Configuration Message Format–

Event Message -
Configured threshold exceeded for interface null, null null, null 9.458577861333334 InterfaceUtil/InterfaceUtil for variable If%util ((((((ifInOctets + ifOutOctets) * 8) / ifSpeed) * 100) / (sysUpTime * 0.01))) is in the MAJOR state.

Re: NNM9i Threshold Exceed Events Variable

    Hello Shiva,
this message does not contain the Inteface information associated " Source Object" shows the custom polling name not the interface impacted that's why it is not getting the variables, can you send the configuration "custom polling" to see how this was configured.

    Hello Mahmoud Ibrahim,

Thanks for the prompt reply, Please find the attachment of Custom Poller Configuration.

Also i visited your site http://www.mahmoudthoughts.com which i felt was very informative

I had one more query in your site there is information that we can Launch Network Overview Map i tried and its working fine, but can i open CUSTOMS Map which i have created. For examples i have created a MAP name as ALL Network Devices. How can i open this map in the single view browser?

Re: NNM9i Threshold Exceed Events Variable

Let me answer the second part of the question as I see it's a little bit easier
to launch the Networking Infrastructure Devices node group
map you can use the command below.
    http:/:/nnm/launch?cmd=showView&objtype= Node&nodegroup=
    Networking+Infrastructure+Devices

you can replace "Networking+Infrastructure+Devices" by the Group name; I think you have to replace space with + plus sign.

I do not understand what you mean by "open this map in the single view browser?"

Re: NNM9i Threshold Exceed Events Variable

I think the interface information is not sent with the event, I think you can enable export customer poller data to CSV "Export Custom Poller Collection" and we can find (run Action) for the value in that CSV file and we can get the inteface index.

NNMi includes the following information in the CSV file:
    Node UUID
    IP address
    Node Name
The MIB expression or the numeric Object Identifier of the MIB variable
    Time stamp (in milliseconds)
    Poll interval (in milliseconds)
MIB Instance (number used to identify the row in the MIB table)
    Metric value

but if there is something like $cia.custompoller.mibinstance it will solve it, but I could not find it.

Re: NNM9i Threshold Exceed Events Variable

    Hello Shiva,

if HP delievers a solution it would be great if you can post it here. I have not found a good workaround for the missing index. My one and only idea is to look in the database for the custom poller instances for the affected node.

    Kind regards
