HP NNMi integration with HP UCMDB for auto update of CIs

hi All,

can anyone suggest solution for HP NNMi 9.2x integration with HP UCMDB for NNMi CIs updation in uCMDB.

NNMi topology should be auto updted in UCMDB.

is it available OOTB in NNMi

or do we have to use any probe like DFM.

thanks in advance.

Re: HP NNMi integration with HP UCMDB for auto update of CIs

Hanumant;

To integrate NNMi 9.2x and UCMDB (9.x and 10.x), UCMDB has to have a data flow probe that can connect to the NNMi server's web API (document is here for 10.10: http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM00642837), retrieve the topology from NNMi and insert it into UCMDB server's database.  When subsequent runs are done, the CIs that have changed will be sent from the data flow probe to the UCMDB server on the schedule that the job is run.  Please ensure that the total time to run the job is not shorter than the interval to re-run the discovery job, as it can take some time (20+ hours for a very large NNMi server).

Hope this helps.

Re: HP NNMi integration with HP UCMDB for auto update of CIs

Hi Keith,

okay, as mentioned by you, we need to have data fow probe for this integration.

But I guess topology integration of NNMi can be done with UCMDB without any probe.

This integration shoud be done from NNMi-->Intgration module-->UCMDB integration.

can anyoe please confirm if this itnegration is possible without DFM.

Regards,

Hanumant
