Windows 7 and laserjet 3050 scan problems

Like so many other people, I cannot scan with the combination of windows 7 64bit and the laserjet 3050. However, I can print.
I cannot find a source to download updated drives - the hp page has 3 driver links and each link is broken.
All suggestions welcomed.
Thank you.

Re: Windows 7 and laserjet 3050 scan problems

The following link gives an official HP view of the reasons for, and differences between, PCL5e, PCL6 and PostScript drivers:

The links does not work I think it is a temporary error, After the links work try to install it and it may works. You can scan by going to control panel then devices and printers then right click on your printer and select start scan and all done !

Say thanks with HP points, give me a points please. :-)

Re: Windows 7 and laserjet 3050 scan problems

Thank you - I cannot do anything until HP fixes those links.
Right now it says:

550 /pub/softlib/software10/COL12216/ja-35999-17/upd-5_0_1-pcl5_winxp-vista.exe: No such file or directory.

Re: Windows 7 and laserjet 3050 scan problems

I have a customer who had a vista 32 bit machine with the HP Laserjet 3050 printer/scanner/etc, and it worked. The vista machine died. He bought a new Windows 7 64 bit system.

The printer will work, but the scanner does not. I have searched high and low to find the solution, however cannot. Please tell me where I need to go to get the driver, and or software so his scanner will work on this system.

Thanks in advance.

Same problem here. Does anyone have a solution? That's not an old printer. HP should provide support for it.

Re: Windows 7 and laserjet 3050 scan problems

I have the same problem: Windows 7 (64-bit) operating system and an HP LaserJet 3020 that prints but does not scan.

I opened the link you suggested:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Under the "Driver" options I click  "Use the software in Windows 7 to fax and scan" but I cannot seem to download it. Then it sends me HP documents and I end going around in circles.

Could you give a more detailed step-by-step instruction as to how to be able to scan?

Thank you
