The print spooler was unable to connect to your printer.

[ Edited ]

I have a similar problem, I have a laptop which is connected wirelessly to my printer 'HP Photsmart 3300 series' using a Dlink router
The problem I seem to appear when I first turn ON the printer. I tried to print and I get the message:

The print spooler was unable to connect to your printer. This can be caused by your printer being turned OFF, the cable being unplug or being connected to a VPN, which will block your access to your local network.

I tried downloading software updates, stoping and restarting the printer spool
Sometimes after doing what I mentioned above several times the printer starts to print.

After I turn the printer OFF and I turn it again, the problem returns.

I would appreciate any help from any one.

Re: The print spooler was unable to connect to your printer.

The Print Spooler was Unable to Connect to your printer. (Printer is HP 7410, but I think that is immaterial).
This can be caused by the printer being turned off
(not true, and in fact printing from another XP system connected the same way works.)
the cable being unplugged
(not true: wireless connection, and it is working. Can get printer status via wireless connection),
or being connected to a VPN which will block...
(not true: just basic wireless connection, that worked yesterday.)

Have tried other recommendations:
1. Turn off spooling to this printer.
2. Delete all other printers defined for this PC
3. Stop and restart Spooler.
4. Run CCleaner to get rid of all temp files.

Is there something specific to try next?
(Will delete printer and reinstall, but I think it in the Windows spooler settings/leftover trash.)

I can not add my printer to my laptop although it was connected for a month and working fine. I have a Lexmark pro705 wireless. Is it my printer?

Re: How to fix Printer Spooler Problems?

I very recently had a massive virus attack and deleted all that showed on my Virus software and

apparently also deleted the print spooler software.

Where can I get the software downloads to correct this problem?

What Windows version are you using?  What type of printer?

Have you looked at the driver downloads page for your printer/OS?
