I've been reading some of other threads about the 4345. Should I be doing some sort of reset after the new firmware is loaded? I assumed it would do what ever was necessary on its own.

Try a cold reset on the device but before print off configuration page for ip details etc.
See attached for Cold reset instructions this will restore the device to orignal factory settings then update the firmware again.
hostnam ip and DSS for digital sending will need to be reaplied but might wake the thing up.
Last resort is Replace formatter.
