Scanjet N6010 black vertical line on documents

HP will not support their machine. All scans have a thin black vertical line, in the same place, see attachment. I have cleaned the glass & mylar several times, but the line persists. Maybe it is inside the machine.

Please see the User Guide for this scanner:

On page 19 you will find steps to Clean the feed-roller assembly. Follow the steps and test scanning once you are done.

If you are still having streaking problems after cleaning the glass, mylar and feed-roller assembly then your problem is likely a bad laser or another related part. The cost to replace such a part would likely cost more than replacing the entire scanner.

I already cleaned the glass & roller. There is only one line, not streaks. It looks like there is something inside the machine. This is a high capacity document scanner, they cost 499.99.
