Password reset HP M5035 MFP

How do I reset my HP LJ 5035 password.
Its connected to a Domian and the old Administrator didn't hand over the password when he resigned.

When I open the console it shows the LogIn tab when I press it it asks for a user name and password.

Please help

Re: Password reset HP M5035 MFP

I hope you have only the one machine to do this with.

You can only reset it by performing a Cold Reset of the unit which (in addition to clearing the previously set Admin password) will set the whole machine to factory default settings.

How to perform a Cold Reset:
1. Turn the off the device.

2. Turn the device on and immediately hold down the 6 button on the control-panel keypad as soon as the control-panel display backlight illuminates.

3. Continue to hold down the 6 button until all three control-panel LEDs remain illuminated. Release the 6 button.

4. Use the 3 button or the 9 button to scroll to Cold Reset.

5. Press 6 to select the Cold Reset function.

The unit should then restart. After it has restarted you should be able to access it and set your own Admin password (and also re-setup other settings as needed).
