Paper jam's HP PSC 1610

The printer insert the paper half way and then gives a problem message "paperjam". After solving the problem the above proces repeats.

Resetting the printer, on/of, etc. doesn't help. As soon as the printer is set on ---> the above process.

Re: Paper jam's HP PSC 1610

Same problem here.

Paper begins to load and about halfway through it just stops without printing anything and gives "Paper Jam" error message. I remove "Paper Jam" from rear and replace panel/door and proceed to try again and it's deja vu all over again.

Please advise if you find solution.

Re: Paper jam's HP PSC 1610

Did you had once a Paper jam and you have pulled out the paper from the front?

If yes to my answer, you could have broken the service station gear inside the machine.

If you open your machine, on your right hand side ( cartridge holder must be parked ) you will see just next to the cartridge holder on your left is a gear ( service station )there you can see if it is broken.

Re: Paper jam's HP PSC 1610

Our printer has the same problem. I thought it was that part and you guys confirmed it. I don't know the part number for it though. Can someone post a picture of an intact and working gear? I'm not too sure of it's use and am thinking about just removing it and seeing if it will still operate.

Thanks!

Re: Paper jam's HP PSC 1610

I have a new printer and the part in question is moved outwards against the spring when the cartridge carrier docks on the right side. It releases when the carrier moves to the left. HP of course tell me its not user serviceable. I've taken a picture of the good part its a bit fuzzy but may give a clue. If anyone gets a part number, preferably with changing instructions, please post.

Re: Paper jam's HP PSC 1610

I have the exact same problem, and it turns out I have the same broken part. I'm in luck; I found the missing portion of the broken part lying nearby inside the printer. It was to the right, on top of some kind of excess ink well. I think I see how the pieces are supposed to go together; it looks like they are supposed to form a 90 degree angle, with the broken-off piece pointing upward. I'm going to attempt to use crazy glue to fix the part. If possible, I'll report back here to let you know if this works.
