This error occurs if the scanner bulb is not heating to the correct temperature or there is some other problem with the scanner hardware.
1. Unplug the power cord and then open the unit to where the scanner glass assembly is visible. Plug the power cord back in and verify that the scanner bulb is lit. If the bulb does not come on, the unit will require service.
2. If the all-in-one power cord is plugged into a power strip, remove it from the power strip and plug it directly into a wall power outlet. The power strip may not be supplying enough power to the product.
3. Cold room temperatures may also cause this error. Move the unit to a warmer room and see if the error recurs. Contact HP for assistance if the problem remains.
