HP4100mfp Scan Failure

Hey Forum
We have a 4100mfp that keeps giving following message :

Copy and send disabled
To resume scanning, cycle power

After power cycle, and about 2 scanned pages, the same error comes back.
Any clues for how to fix.

Re: HP4100mfp Scan Failure

I had one with this error that turned out to be the scanner power supply. I was lucky to have a spare one to swap parts for troubleshooting. This is the error description from the service manual.
Scan Failure
An Application-specific integrated
circuit (ASIC) has failed on the
scanner control board.
1. Turn the power off.
2. Reseat the scanner controller board.
Turn the power on. If the error message
persists, replace the scanner controller
This could help.

Re: HP4100mfp Scan Failure

Error 30.1.18

Paul is correct that the problem is in the scanner power supply.  Specifically the 3.3 volt coming from the power supply.

My was at 3.4 volts and there is only one adjustment on the power supply to adjust.  After 3 days without problem, the printer was returned to the user.
