When scanning with the ADF to PDF, the first page scans fine but the rest are horizontal lines.
I tried to copy the hpiscn .dll (188.8.131.529) but sometimes the file size is zero with the current date
Other times the printer does not want to accept the version, I'm a bit scared to tamper with the DLL files
Any help will be welcome

There is no need to tamper with the actual files with this printer. You might want to start small and update the firmware as well as the scanning software with the latest updates from http://support.hp.com.
Check and see if you can reproduce the problem with simple copies. If you can reproduce the problem when copying a few pages then there will most likely be a hardware problem that needs to be corrected or replaced.

Please provide inputs regarding following points:
1) Which operating system you are using
2) Is the copy/scan from Flatbed glass working fine
3) What is the source of hpiscn.dll file & why did you updated it
Click the Kudos star if this was helpful. Thank You!

2) ... must re-install to check
3) refer to http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Multifunction-and-All

When I use the scan-bed, it looks fine, only when I use the ADF does it give problems
I updated the firmware to 20110319
I tried updating the drivers using: LJM1522-PCL6-pnp-win64-ww.exe, can't, says system can't find file HPzpnp01.exe, so I paste it while installing in the temp directory, then it wants HPzshl01.exe.

I operate my HP Laserjet M1522nf over a network and through my Macbook Pro with the latest Mac OS X. Lately, I have been having problems with my scanner - every time I exited my scanner menu via HP Director I would get an error message. The scanner menu would not recognise either the flatbed or the document feeder options. I tried to remove the device, uninstall and re-install the software, but that hasn't worked. The installer program has an error message that it's expired. The print and fax functions seem to work, but I often need to restart the printer so that it connects to the network.

Try a cold reset or reinstalling your software.
To Cold Reset the 1512:
1. Power down the printer
2. Press and hold the Right Arrow button and the Cancel button (Red X)
3. Power on the printer
4. Wait for the printer to display "Permanent Storage Init"
5. Release the buttons
6. Wait for the printer to return to the ready screen
7. Reconfigure any scanning/faxing options that are necessary
If you reinstall your software make sure to download the latest updates from http://support.hp.com

Hi - Thanks for the detailed instructions. I could not find the right arrow on my 1522 - in fact there are only up and down arrows and a return back arrow. I decided to download the software again as you suggested. That seemed to have worked.

Go to http://support.hp.com and lookup your model number. You should be able to find a full driver solution for your OS and get all the drivers that you need.
