HP Laserjet 2840 Prints Black & White only

We have a HP LaserJet 2840 connected to our network using the PCL6 Driver. When any user tries to print, only Black & White prints come off.

Colour prints come off as differant shades of grey. We used to have the PCL5 driver installed which allowed colour printing without any problems. However this driver is no longer installed on the server. We only have the installation CD/Files for PCL6.

I was wondering if it's possible to get PCL5 driver or can anyone suggest a fix?

Thanks in advance.

Re: HP Laserjet 2840 Prints Black & White only

This is probably obvious, but verify:

-none of the colour cartridges is empty
-the pcl6 driver is the colour one, and not the b/w one
-the driver itself is not set to greyscale

Re: HP Laserjet 2840 Prints Black & White only

The only pcl5 driver offered for this printer is the universal driver and most people have issues with them. You could try the postscript driver and see if that works ok.
