HP Laserjet 1536 DNF 'No Fax Detected'

[ Edited ]

I have read through some of the other issues similar to this but there are no answers for this model. I am able to send out faxes however I no longer receive the confirmation report I used to get.

My main issue is when receiving incoming fax's there is ' No Fax Detected' under Result on the print out. It keeps ringing and printing the same reports. These are legitimate faxes not phone calls trying to go through.

Can you please help?

I am having the same issue.  Could this possibly be an Analog/Digital Telephone Line issue?

I had exactly the same problem with a new HP multifunctional printer.

The solution is:

This printer use 4 wire (two pair) to communicate over the telephone line.

When I change the two wire cable to a 4 wire cable it is solved the problem and it could send and receive fax pages.

That is all.

But searched the solution for 2 day, because with 2 cable the incoming call are ringed :) Strange - I think ,but the analog phone also ring -->so the line seen OK.

Good luck :)

Re: HP Laser 1536 DNF 'No Fax Detected'

You could try disabling the v.34 options.  Go to setup - fax setup - advanced setup - fax speed and change the setting to medium (v.17) and see if this helps with the no fax detected.
