HLT ALG

Question

I got my HP 50g today and got at once some problems. This is my first calculator, so I am not specialist. First everything went fine, but suddenly some operations stopped to work. Now at least following operations do not work, STAT, NUM.SLV and TIME. First they worked ok.

I thought, that it could have something to do with display, because there is now HLT in front of ALG. I don´t know, what that HLT means or how it got there, but first on the display was only ALG.

Answer

To get rid of the HLT annuniciator please press
(after the "@" some comments of mine):

@entering the PRG environment
@going to the last 3 softkeys
@choosing RUN softkey
@issuing the KILL command

Now the HLT should be gone...
It was there to remind the user that some operation
or environment had been "suspended" - intentionally
or not ;-)

The above assumes that you set flag -117 (Soft MENU),
by pressing , then until
the flag 117 is highlighted, then to set it.
