Re: Printer busy (status:0xe00002e9) - How do I fix this?

I have exactly the same problem on my HP CP3505. The only solution that I can find is to turn off the printer and turn it back on again, which is time consuming and annoying. If you or anyone else has a better solution I'd be very pleased to hear it.

Re: Printer busy (status:0xe00002e9) - How do I fix this?

I have the same problem with the 3505. it seems to happen after the printer goes into sleep mode. i've tried updating the drivers to no avail. the only thing that works is cycling the power on the printer as was mentioned above. a fix for this woudl be very helpful!

Me too HP Photosmart C4750. Turning the printer off then on again did not help and I also tried re-installing the driver.

Re: Printer busy (status:0xe00002e9) - How do I fix this?

The message I get on my iMac (intel core 2 duo) with OS10.6.4 trying to print to my Laserjet P3005n is:

     Connecting to printer,,,

Network host '192.168.1.2' is busy, will retry in 15 seconds...

It will only connect if I reboot printer. HP says they no longer support the P3005. Great!!! Planned obsolescence??

Will someone from HP (or Apple) PLEASE look into this?!!!!

Re: Printer busy (status:0xe00002e9) - How do I fix this?

Add me to the list of people with the same problem.  I have an OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless that had been printing wireless for several months without issue, then something changed and now I get the following error as my job hangs in the queue:

Network host 'OfficeJet8000.local.' is busy; will retry in 20 seconds...

My laptop is running Mac OS X 10.6.5 and connecting to the printer over a WPA-protected WiFi connection via a Time Machine running firmware 7.4.2.

Would love to find a fix.  I had to pull out a USB cable and string it between the printer and the laptop to make it work.

Re: Printer busy (status:0xe00002e9) - How do I fix this?

I see that this is an old problem. I wish I had know of it before I bought this 3-in-one printer. I've only had it since Christmas, and have only printed one page at a time on occasion. I recently tried to print several pages and got this error message. I'm using a DeskJet 2050 and running a G4 with OS X 10.5.8. And turning off the printer and restarting it doesn't seem to help. After letting it sit turned off and unused for a couple of days, I turned it on to print, and it printed the page that I had been trying to print 2 days ago! I managed to print 2 of the pages that I wanted to print today, then got the error message again. HP should have their butts kicked for not fixing this problem. I bought an HP because I thought they were a reputable company. I never had any problem with the old HP printer that I replaced with this one, and which I passed on to a family member.

Hi I had this same problem with my hp f4500 all-in-one printer and I simply re-installed the Hp software CD that came with the printer and this error message went away and my printer went back to working like normal...you can also try downloading the software for your printer from the hp website..hope this helps :)

Re: Printer busy (status:0xe00002e9) - How do I fix this?

Just purchased a Deskjet 1000 J110 Printer and am having same problem. Had to reinstall HP software several times just to get it not to go into spinning beach ball. It seems to be the HP Utility software that is the culprit. This software seems like overkill for a single function printer. Powering printer off and on by unplugging connector is only thing to bring the printer "back to life". Ugh.

Re: Printer busy (status:0xe00002e9) - How do I fix this?

Identical problem.  MacBook Pro OSX and HP Office Jet 6500A.  Have to completely shut down and restart to print from computer.  I see 15 inquiries posted here with no response by HP.  Rather disappointing.  I take it there are compatability issues that have not been addressed and will assume there is a better product line for Macs and move on.  Anyone have these same issues with Cannon or Brother?

Re: Printer busy (status:0xe00002e9) - How do I fix this?

I just purchased the HP DesignJet Z2100 44in Photo plotter printer for aprox $5800. This warning, although apparently common, is totally unacceptable.  Has anyone found a solution yet.  I am trying to print from a Mac with Leopard, but also a Dell... Neither work.  Software was installed correctly, and I followed all the trouble shooting steps.  This is a very expensive, extremely heavy piece of useless if this can't be fixed.

HP... Please ADVISE!  SOON.

I'm also having this problem on HP 1050. I've only just started using it despite buying the printer a couple of years ago, as I have 2 computers and used a different printer on my mac. I bought a new printer at Xmas and then discovered it was 'too new' for my old mac, so had to transfer the 1050 that was attached to my laptop over to my mac instead. I've been trying to print and 9 times out of 10 it doesn't, and brings up the 'Printer Busy (Status:0xe00002e9) Connecting message.

Soooo annoying. Wish I hadn't bought a new printer now (on top of this, the ink cartridges for this one are more expensive!).
