Accepted Solution

HP ANSI/C++

I bought the soft  B9007AA which are include into the DVD -  BA496AA

OS is HP-UX 11.23i.

I would like to install the compiler A.06.27 HP ANSI/C++ which suppose to be included

But no way, it's not visible into the DVD (see in attach).

Is someone could help me to unlock this ?

I already enter the associated codeworld

I assume you mean 11.31 since you can't get A.06.27 for 11.23.

>I already entered the associated codeword

How did you enter the swlist or swinstall command?

If you get it installed, note that A.06.27.03, PHSS_43203 is the latest.

Re: HP C/aC++

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for your help.

Nevertheless i coinfirm that version used is
HP-UX 11.23 IA64

We were be able to install trial version of the compiler on our system
https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B9007AAEVAL

That's why, we don't understand why it's not compatible with the DVD provided.

As we are on test and Dev environment and need to have the same version of OS as the client, we cannot upgrade into 11.31 version

The command we used is
swinstall

it will take us to menu based program and there we can have the option to add the codeword. after adding this codeword only, we can see the softwares from the cd

Newer versions of aC++ are NOT supported on 11.23.

>We were be able to install trial version of the compiler on our system

Did you force install it?  The trial version is only available for 11.31.

>need to have the same version of OS as the client, we cannot upgrade into 11.31 version

These are conflicting requirements.  If the client is on 11.23, you'll need to use an older version of aC++.

Re: HP C/aC++ for 11.23

Thanks again Denis,

>Did you force install it?  The trial version is only available for 11.31.

Yes we force it and we are able to use it. The workaround solution we found to avoid to be stuck is to change the date of the server in order to be able to continue using this trial version

>These are conflicting requirements.  If the client is on 11.23, you'll need to use an older version of aC++.

Yes, in fact client use the version

aCC: HP ANSI C++ B3910B A.05.50

But as this an oudated version, we are not able to have it

Is there any other to have this version ?

My main concern is that we have pay for this compiler (around 7000 €) and we don't have any final version...

This wouldn't be legal.

>in fact client use the version: aCC: HP ANSI C++ B3910B A.05.50

This obsolete aCC5 version from 2003 isn't supported.

>Is there any other to have this version?

The last 11.23 version is A.06.25.02 in PHSS_41499.

>My main concern is that we have pay for this compiler (around 7000 €) and we don't have any final version...

If you ask Support nicely and explain your situation, perhaps they can supply you with A.06.25.

Hi Dennis,

I assume that, but what is not fair is that you pay for a product that you cannot use ..;

Thanks a lot for this information, maybe it could help us to deal with HP

Re: HP C/aC++ for 11.23

Hi Dennis,

I ordered and pay this product with a official vendor which order this to HP

I already pay to have the good version of the compiler, and from now we have nothing ...

So we paid 7000 $ for a product which it doesn't work on our plateform...

Re: HP C/aC++ for 11.23

Hi Dennis,

It should have said it was only for 11i v3.

So how you can explain that we were able to download the trial version of the compiler on the following link

https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B9007AAEVAL

And install it on our OS HP-UX 11.23i ?

From now, it works fine.

We just need to have a 26 digit hexadecimal license in order to unlock the soft.

Could you please help on this, if you can  ?

We didn't make something illegal as we have bought the licence to use the compiler, even if we cannot have the final version.

I contacted the support, and they ask me to pay again for this intervention ...

I don't know what to do.

Vendor asked me to contact the support

The support ask me to contact the vendor or to pay for the support

Re: HP C/aC++ for 11.23

Only because you forced it with "-x allow_incompatible=true".

Basically all sales of new products on 11.23 stopped a few years ago.

>I contacted the support, and they ask me to pay again for this intervention ...

>Vendor asked me to contact the support

And you have explained to Support you need to purchase a 11.23 version of aC++?  How much are they asking you to pay?

Have you talked to the vendor and asked if they still have a 11.23 versions?

>How much are they asking you to pay?

>Have you talked to the vendor and asked if they still have a 11.23 versions?

The vendor is just intermediate with HP, and this is what they provided to us, unfortunately

Let's start all over.

What web site did you use to purchase the compiler?  Did you use this one?

https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/productDetails.do?productNumber=B9007AA&reqType=BUY

What did you get when you purchased it?

>I bought the soft  B9007AA which are include into the DVD -  BA496AA

This is not how the above URL works.  You must do a electronic download.

Re: HP C/aC++ for 11.23

Hi Dennis,

As we are a big company we are not able to purchase something online.

We need to go through a vendor which is allow by the company.

I asked the vendor that we need a compiler: Compiler Version A.06.26 Base Release for HP C/aC++ for HP-UX 11.2i

Then, the story begun since March....

What did the vendor provide you?

If they are just reselling the compiler on the URL I provided, they also have to provide the electronic download of the bits.

That compiler won't be on the application media.

This would be the 26 hex digits codeword.

Re: HP C/aC++ for 11.23

Hi Dennis,

i asked for the compiler and they provided me the media (photo in attach)

I don't have any Codeworld for the application, but only Codeworld to unlock the media.

When i unlocked it, i didn't see the compiler inside

What swlist/swinstall commands did you use?

Re: HP C/aC++ for 11.23

Hi Dennis,

We followed these steps

to /cdrom, with « swlist –s /cdrom »

declare the CodeWord for the DVD,

Mount the DVD under /cdrom et launch « swinstall –s /cdrom », then :

Action\Add New CodeWord

I was thinking about using the CLI vs the GUI and using the -x codeword=XX -x customer_id=YY.

Do you see any changes in /.codeword ?

Great news!

I suppose it was easier to do that then to tell you why swinstall couldn't see it?  ;-)

I was going to suggest if you had a 11.31 machine, would swlist work there?
