997/1200 Performance Values

We are currenly running a 997/800 with 8 gig memory and approx 600gig of EMC storage. I have been looking at the Performance numbers for the 997/1200. If I am looking at them correctly , it appears that an upgrade would be about at 25% to 30 % performance boost. Is that realistic ?

Re: 997/1200 Performance Values

Only figures I have is Relative Performance:
Series 997/800 39.0
Series 997/1200 52.3
That looks like 34% improvement.
What other figures did you see? Where?

With any upgrade, your mileage will always very depending on your application and what it is doing.

Remember that an upgrade consists of three parts, HP hardware, HP software, and third party software. It's been my experience over the years that the software part of the upgrade is JUST as important as the hardware and will cost you more!.

My $.04 for inflation.
