Professional services firm improves collaboration using HP OM (success story)

A small professional services company was having difficulty managing multiple IT monitoring teams, which caused a lack of visibility across different IT domains.  They were monitoring anywhere more than 10,000 infrastructure components, comprising of heterogeneous servers (Linux, Windows, Unix – both physical and virtual), network devices, and databases.  In order to solve their problems, they started using HP Operations Manager, Smart Plug-Ins or SPIs, Agents, and SiteScope from HP’s Operations Center product line.

 

By using these products, this company increased availability of their business services, reduced the number of separate monitoring teams, and improved collaboration among different groups within IT.   Numbers tell it all.  An added benefit was the reduction in downtime costs anywhere from 1% to 10%.  The overall impression of the HP Operations Center products they used? Their IT Director said:

 

“HP Operations Center increased visibility of degrading services (outage avoidance) by applying proactive measures.”
