HP Discover: partner management appliance- Day 2

A guest post from Judy DePuy, who is one of the people at HP who helps manage partner relationships.

I just attended a fabulous get-together at the V Bar at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, where we are holding HP Discover this year. The hosts of the event were CT Consultants, one of our Canadian Partners, and Arrow, one of HP’s leading distributors.

This event was right across from where they sell the Blue Man Group tickets and paraphernalia. The location is important, as CT Consultants created a great promotional video which was displayed on the frosted glass of V Bar, visible to the hundreds of people per hour that wander past this key hub that connects the Venetian, Palazzo, and the Sands Convention Center.

vbar.jpgOnce you got past the red velvet ropes and burly bouncer (think Vin Diesel), selected partners from HP Canada and Arrow Canada entered a realm of hip. Mood lighting, a techno beat, and some cool mixology facilitated conversation about management software for mid-sized enterprises.

To a packed room, Luigi Tiano, virtualization practice director at CT Consultants shared a short presentation (and he did not even need to dim the lights to show the slides). This was essentially a SNEAK PREVIEW of a new plug and play Operations Appliance with a single SKU for simple ordering. If you have purchased management software from HP, you realize that this is a very good thing. The camaraderie was fun and the excitement that we could do this was even better. It was awesome.

I know what you are thinking... When can I get this? We are working on the details. Here’s what I know: Canada gets it first. For those in the U.S. or other locations, rest assured that this will eventually make it to your region. There are certainly more good things to come.

For HP, Judy DePuy.
