Customers stated the HP Vertica Analytics Platform addresses these top pain points:

  • Queries run very slow or do not complete at all
  • Unable to analyze large volumes of data
  • Current system had reached its performance limits
  • Summarized and aggregated data loses detail and insights

What customers value most


Speed and performance enabled data-driven decisions that could not previously be made. Adherence to standards, both SQL and industry standard hardware made the solution more affordable. This allows for:

  • Extreme speed and performance, 80 percent
  • Standard SQL interface, 69 percent
  • Aggressive compression, 48 percent
  • Massive scalability on industry standard hardware, 45 percent

Forrester study


A recent Forrester study commissioned by HP examined the total economic impact and potential return on investment enterprises may realize by implementing the HP Vertica Analytics Platform. The composite company featured showed a potential payback period of only 1.5 months. HP hosted a webcast featuring one of the customer participants and Forrester on June 25, 2013.

 

Big Data conference August 5-7


HP Vertica hosts its annual Big Data conference in Boston this year, with both business and technical tracks.
