Taking You Backstage at HP Discover 2012

“Despite what you may have heard, innovation is alive and well,” HP President and CEO Meg Whitman upon taking the stage at HP Discover 2012

Innovation encompassed the theme of last week’s HP Discover 2012, which focused on paving the way for the future with cutting-edge technology specifically created for the end-user. HP’s concerted effort on driving towards end-users was present throughout key note speeches, sessions and floor interactions that took place over the two days of the conference.

During her keynote speech, Whitman described an emerging style of cloud-driven IT that’s aimed directly at end-users who depend on mobility, big data, lower costs, greater agility and faster IT. HP is determined to keep pace with growing customer needs, and its focus over the next 12 months will be to work harder at commercializing these kinds of innovations in the market. In this same Opening Plenary session, George Kadifa, Executive Vice President of HP Software, also discussed the new SaaS HP Service Anywhere service desk.

HP tangibly demonstrated its intention to push the envelope of cutting-edge technology by announcing the release of several new products for HP Storage and HP Cloud that will assist in ushering in the next era of IT.

HP Discover 2012 served as the ideal platform to make it clear to the IT world that HP is forging into the future with no intention of slowing down. As Bill Veghte, HP COO, said, “We’re not standing still.”
