Take BORING out of online training with new ITSM eLearning from HP Educational Services

Classroom instruction has its own advantages but flexibility is not one of them. In the busy service management environment, arranging your work schedule around a fixed class time often just won’t work.

Online training solves this issue, and it is growing in popularity. (I recently noticed an article about the growing popularity of online training that discusses this trend) But in many cases, the content doesn’t measure up. This is not the case with HP VISPEL.

In talking with Brad Laatsch from HP Educational Services, I learned that HP’s VISPEL (Video Instructor Self-Paced eLearning), delivers a premier educational experience at less than 10 percent of the cost of traditional methods. Unlike the online training of the past, VISPEL uses an innovative training delivery format that combines the affordability and convenience of self-paced e-learning with the expertise of an instructor to closely simulate the classroom experience. Demos of this experience can be viewed online.

Coursework is organized into all-access libraries that are intended to drive a deep understanding in the subject area, and include:

  • Unlimited access to the videos included in the library
  • Online, printable study guides and support documents
  • 24×7 online mentoring support
  • Lifetime membership in our online mentoring community
  • PDU credits where applicable

For those interested or involved in IT Service Management, there are two very popular curriculum paths:  ITIL Foundations and the IT Best Practices libraries.

More details on the ITSM classes as well as additional information on the other learning libraries are available on the HP website or feel free to drop educational services an email to have someone contact you. If you’d like to talk personally to Brad, he will be joining me at the FUSION 13 event in Nashville on October 20-23rd. If you are attending I hope you will stop by the HP booth and say hello.

I encourage you to watch this video where Meg Whitman shares her thoughts on the value of education.

This offering sounds very interesting.

This role based multi-class  library offering seems to align with what I see coming out of Stamford and other major universities..Great idea

Great stuff!!  I plan to share with all my students!  The VISPEL is great for people who want a quick refresher before taking an ITIL exam.  Thanks for sharing!
