Share your ITSM Story at HP Discover (formerly HP Software Universe)! Submit your abstract now!

Fame, respect from your peers (not to mention a great business networking opportunity), free pass to HP Discover, bright lights of Las Vegas, gambling and nightlife…this could all be yours June 6-10, 2011!

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU, RIGHT NOW…if you have a good story about your ITSM process implementation and you are a customer of HP Service Manager (SM) software and/or HP Asset Manager (AM) software.  Even better if you have implemented any of their extended solution components (e.g., HP Universal CMDB, HP Discovery and Dependency Mapping (DDM), HP Operations Orchestration(OO)…).  Ditto for any HP partner who can get their customer to commit to co-present on such a topic.

The most compelling submittals would have one or more of these elements:

1.  A Service Manager 9.2 or Asset Manager 5.02 (or newer) implementation

2.  A fast implementation (less than 3 or 4 months) and how it happened

3.  An implementation that has solid quantitative results which could be shared

4.  A focus on a process implementation, not just coverage of the technology

5. A solution theme (e.g., self service angles, integrated change & configuration, operations monitoring linking to the service desk, SACM, combined use of AM, SM, and Discovery, DDMA w/ UCMDB or DDMI w/ AM, anything more automated)

6.  Alignment with themes such as converged infrastructure (consolidation, data center transformation themes) or hybrid delivery (any part of the commonly managed environment outsourced? Any cloud story?)

7.  A rare or under-represented topic - Knowledge Management comes to mind, but this could include a number of topics that we don't see every day.

If you come up with something by end of today (Thursday January 27) you can submit an abstract here.  After that date, you can still submit for another week or so by posting a comment on this blog and providing me some contact info.  I am the ITSM track manager for the event and can get your submittal into the system through a “backdoor” process.
