Service Catalog, Reporting, Remote Support, and Password Reset

What do service catalog, reporting, remote support and password reset all have in common?  For this article, these topics all share great partner capabilities and some important updates for HP ITSM customers. In alphabetical order by partner,

There is a breadth of industry demands when it comes to service catalogs and self-service request management. Biomni is a leading premium service catalog provider with full related ITIL service lifecycle support. Biomni’s Front Office for HP is integrated with HP Service Manager. In the future, Front Office for HP will provide a unified service catalog with access to HP software cloud services. Our partnership with Biomni was recently announced at HP Discover. Read this press release for more details:

bomgar.pngRemote Support and Bomgar

Bomgar is a long standing HP partner and well known in the ITSM community for providing remote support. There are a number of common customers that use Bomgar with HP Service Manager to provide remote support whether the remote client is on or off the network. Bomgar has a nice five minute video that provides an overview of the integration

Despite all, password resets are still one of the leading call categories into IT service or help desks. For companies without automated password reset, it is typically the leading call generator – by far. FastPass provides a self-service solution that allows users to reset passwords across multiple systems without calling the service desk. IT is another new partner solution and fully integrated HP Service Manager.

westbury.pngEnterprise Reporting and Westbury

The Westbury SMI Suite provides a robust reporting solution that allows data retrieval from multiple HP ITSM applications including: HP Service Manager, Asset Manager, PPM and the UCMDB. Westbury has been proven in numerous projects providing a dedicated reporting platform enabling separation from the production systems. A good starting point for more information

xmatters.pngIT Alerting and xMatters

xMatters is also well known in the IT Management community starting from a foundation of alerting solutions to improve MTTR and reduce downtime through relevant notifications. xMatters has grown beyond these important beginnings, but this is still a great starting place. More information can be found on-line here:

eview.pngAll of these great partners have HP-certified integrations and help bring more value to a Service Desk organization that is running HP Service Manager. And speaking of complementary solution components, we have recently launched a CMS specific blog. And speaking of CMS (and Discovery), eView is another great partner that extends our discovery to pull in configuration information from the IBM mainframe and AS400 worlds. I think that articles posted there will be of interest to our ITSM readers. I encourage you to check it out.

As always, let us know what you think. If you are using a great companion solution, let us know.

At the close of the above post, I have a mention to the new HP CMS blog. A good example of the content that is and will be there is a new post by Brian Miller on Oracle compliance.
