Leveraging HP UCMDB Configuration Manager for Quick Value – at HP Discover Vienna too

With HP Discover now only a few days away, the product management team is looking forward to in-person conversations with attendees. This is where we learn the key ways IT organizations are leveraging the products we deliver, often in ways that reap even more value than we may have originally realized.

One customer experience comes to mind where members of our team visited a healthcare service organization to help them get started with HP UCMDB Configuration Manager (UCMDB-CM). The visit began around 9:00 in the morning with coffee and introductions followed by the installation of UCMDB-CM. By early afternoon, Configuration Manager was up and running. By mid-afternoon, the customer was already able to visualize their online service offering in UCMDB-CM.

By late afternoon, the customer was able to identify that 10% of the resources that were supposed to be dedicated to supporting their Citrix environment were actually not even running Citrix. In one day, the customer uncovered 10% wasted Citrix resources that they could then redeploy and raise their effectiveness! And one week later, they were already standardizing their MS Exchange servers and tracking changes in their virtualized environments!

These are the types of experiences that I look forward to hearing from HP Discover attendees and sharing with those who are in the midst of their CMS implementations.

We will be sharing more customer experiences in our UCMDB-CM session:
