HP Service Manager – 10 (plus 1) of my favorites to look forward to at HP Discover

Two weeks, that is how long I have to wait for my favorite event of the year! I am so excited to see what this year will bring - and now I know that I won’t have to wait too long. I narrowed my list of top events down to ten (with one additional) and I can’t wait to share with you.

 

Every year at HP Discover, there is variety of Business Breakout sessions (BBnnnn), Technical Breakout sessions (TBnnnn), Round Tables (RTnnnn), Discussion Forums (DFnnnn), Discover Theaters (DTnnnn) and Demos (DEMOnnnn).  Here are my favorite sessions. No surprise, they are all related to HP Service Manager. Some sessions do overlap; and I have indicated these with a (*)

Join experts from HP for an in-depth and wide-ranging industry discussion of ITSM and related topics such as configuration management.

Wednesday, June 11

BB3448 - Services and Portfolio Management keynote
Tony Sumpster and Daniel Lamb talk about Service and Portfolio Management. BB3549 – United Airlines: Achieving success by migrating to Service Manager 9.3

United Airlines recently upgraded from Service Manager Version 7.11 to 9.3. Attend this session to hear first-hand about the lessons learned, pitfalls to avoid, and other key details about United Airlines’ migration experience. In addition to migration goals achieved, United Airlines will also talk about how they gained greater value from Service Manager by upgrading to the current release.

DT3099 - Streamline your processes, empower your users, and cut out the middle man by implementing Service Request Catalog (*)

By using the Service Request Catalog to support our Service and Support Portal, HP can reduce the number of calls and emails to our Global Solution Center (Help Desk) for ticket creation and routing. The Service Request Catalog enables our end users to order hardware, software, and services, as well as track orders to final delivery or consumption. Come to this session and learn from our experiences so you can benefit from deploying the Service Request Catalog, too.

Join experts from HP Research & Development, Product Management, and Product Marketing for an in-depth discussion on HP Service Manager integrations.

BB4301 - The IT Service Management program rollout (SM 9.3) at Royal Bank of Canada

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) needed a single IT Service Management (ITSM) solution to support all its business needs enterprise-wide. This session will present a brief overview of RBC’s methodology and the lessons learned during the deployment.

DEMO4261 – HP IT Service Management and HP Service Manager: Integration for ITIL

At this demo, you’ll see how the integration of HP IT Service Management (ITSM) and HP Service Manager provides ITIL-based solutions for incident, problem, change, service catalog, request, release, knowledge, and other management processes.

For all current and future HP Service Manager customers Propel sessions are very relevant. We will reveal some secrets so you do not want to miss:

 

Tuesday: Propel Discussion Forum DF4340 at 1:00pm

Wednesday: Business breakout BB3007 at 12pm and the round table RT3381 at 16:30;

Thursday: Business breakout BB3334 at 10:30.

You can visit Propel booth 847 from Tuesday morning to Thursday afternoon.

And the final tip: we  still have a seat for you at Propel Special Interest Group (SIG) on Tuesday, June 10.

I have been working closely with our software engineers to prepare the Service Manager demo booth to show tons of exciting new functionality.  We can't wait to show it to everyone-- please come by the software pavillion, we are right by a coffee bar.
