HP Discover Day One: An ITSM Recap

Day one of HP Discover is officially under our belts and what a day it was. We’ve discovered a whole lot so far and in the theme of the event, we’d consider that a success.

No you may or may not know this but a lot of work goes into pulling off an event like this. Service Manager (ITSM), Service Anywhere (SAW), Asset Manager (AM) and Configuration Management System (CMS) are all out in full force.

Chuck Darst, Stuart Rance, Michael Pott, whom you may know from their regular posts here on the ITSM blog and our honorary new team member, the infamous ITSM Penguin were also representing, from sun up to sun down. Check out their HP Discover kick off chat here!

Today our products were proud to host a bunch of great sessions. We kicked off Day One of HP Discover with SM and CMS roundtables. Experts from both products’ R&D, product management and product marketing teams lead discussions and answered questions with one goal in mind – helping our customers get the most out of their HP Products. If you didn’t make it, fret not! We’ve still got a wealth of information over the next two days. Click here for the complete list of ITSM sessions and events.

Day One of HP Discover ended with an ever excellent keynote from none other than Ms. Meg Whitman. As suspected, big data, mobility, the cloud and social media were hot topics in day one’s closing ceremony. As unsuspected, Kevin Bacon (yes, THAT Kevin Bacon) kicked off the closing event with some food for thought. No longer do 6 degrees separate you from the invisible man, rather it’s just 4.7 people from you and Mr. Bacon, and everyone else on earth. And that’s a fact.

Other hot topics from Day One of HP Discover?

Service Manager Subscription Pricing – Get it while it’s hot.

Service Anywhere – experience your service desk in the cloud.

Biomni – Our newest member of our ISV MRP, check them out at booth #4158a

And that about wraps up day one. See you all tomorrow. We’re also tweeting live from @HPITSM – join in on the fun and in the conversation!
