Fusion 13 – ITSM Arrives in Nashville

Opening Night - Sunday

The exhibit hall was hopping last night for the opening reception of the Fusion 13 conference. The organizers told me they were expecting almost 1600 people (attendees and vendors), which is a lot of ITSM people in one location!20131020_191329_resized.jpg

 

I’m at booth #504 with the HP contingent, and we are showing HP Service Manager, HP Service Anywhere, and the new VISPEL  training offer from our Educational Services team.

 

The exhibit hall was hopping during the opening reception last night and Scott Knox added to the fun by roaming the  show floor on “prize patrol”  where he awarded gift cards to attendees spotted wearing HP buttons.  Stop by and see us at the show – get a button – and watch out for the prize patrol later in the day!

Monday, Monday – It was all I hoped it would be!

For me, Scott, Kate and Susan - it was all about being in the exhibit hall talking with customers about HP Service Manager and HP Service Anywhere as well as our entire Service and Portfolio Management stack.  It’s super fun to show customers that with the HP ITSM, they have choices that don’t require compromises.  On-premise?  We have it.  SaaS? We have that too.  Concurrent licenses?  No problem. Subscription pricing?  Of course.  But what about subscription pricing  for on-premise service desk?  Absolutely -we have that too!     

 

Joining the ITSM team at FUSION13 were Brad and Catherine from HP Educational Services .  They spent their day talking to clients about their video instructor (VISPEL) e-learning  and a wide variety of educational services offers.  Like the night before – Karen (our fab event coordinator) dispatched the “prize patrol” , and of course, they were well received by the lucky gift card winners.

Our last day at the show kicked off bright and early with our own Scott Knox leading a pre-conference breakfast session titled “Automation may be your ticket to innovation!”where the room full of attendees heard Scott share his know-how on leveraging automation to change task times from days to hours – which frees an IT team to work on the more important projects instead of maintenance.  The session was great, but too short.

 

The rest of the day was spent back on the show floor talking to customers, doing demos, visiting HP partner booths and chatting with analysts who stopped by.  Late in the day we even had a few competitors come by to exchange trade-show trinkets.    In the end – it was off to the airport.
