Discover the secrets behind HP Service Anywhere in Las Vegas

fabulous_las_vegas.jpg

What do n-Apps, ticketless, self-service, demos, roundtables, sessions, and keynotes all have in common?

They will all be front and center in the bright lights and heat of HP Discover in Las Vegas next week. This is a great opportunity to get the answers to your tough questions and to see demos of the latest in IT Service Management.

In particular for HP Service Anywhere, I recommend:

  • BB3462 - Changing the rules of customer service management with HP Service Anywhere PointClickCare changed the game in long-term care technology by delivering the first Software-as-a-Service-based electronic health record software. Facing rapid growth and constant change, PointClickCare outgrew its original IT Service Management solution. The company needed to find a replacement that would help improve their delivery and lifecycle processes. Come to this session and hear about PointClickCare’s experience using HP Service Anywhere—including moving to new updates under our continuous delivery model.
  • TB3453 - What’s new with HP Service Anywhere
Understand the very latest on HP Service Anywhere and its strategy, direction, and roadmap. Learn how codeless configuration simplifies implementation and future upgrades. Discuss social service desk and integration capabilities. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear understanding of what this software can do for your organization—including reducing tickets with HP’s connected intelligence based on HAVEn (Hadoop, Autonomy, Vertica, Enterprise Security, and nApps).
  • BB3448 - Services and Portfolio Management keynote
Hear the latest news about HP Service Portfolio Management solutions, including benefits and highlights of HP Service Anywhere; Propel; Service Manager; Asset Manager; Configuration Management System; and Project and Portfolio Management. Discover how to improve your IT Service Portfolio Management solution, including reducing tickets by using HP’s connected intelligence-based on HAVEn (Hadoop, Autonomy, Vertica, Enterprise Security, and nApps).

After attending these sessions, I encourage you to visit the HP Software demo area to talk with product experts and see the very latest in service management. Service Anywhere will be demoed in a couple of different areas. Look for DEMO4260 or DEMO4269. At these sessions ask about the proactive knowledge delivery and what it means for both help desk agents and IT end-user interacting with the service desk. Ask what this means with respect to “Ticketless IT” from the perspective of handling both support issues/problems and requests or changes. Also check out the HP Service Manager demos and ask about the Autonomy integration.

As what happens in Vegas has a tendency to stay in Vegas—but that doesn’t have to be the case with HP Discover. If you are unable to attend the event,  here are some alternatives for anyone not visiting next week.

  • Visit the new hp.com/go/serviceanywhere website. You can find a variety of resources including videos on the proactive knowledge and analytic capabilities mentioned above. There is also a short video on what this means from an end user self-service perspective.
  • As hot topic analytics, relevant knowledge pushing/presentation, and proactive problem management are all based on embedded HP HAVEn capabilities (specifically Autonomy IDOL), check out what else is new with the “n” in HAVEn.

There have been some great HP ITSM blog posts on the self-service and knowledge management topics recently. These are all foundational to the Ticketless journey. In particular, I recommend 4 IT self-service benefits made possible by a well-designed search architecture.

KM+self_service.jpgLast and certainly not least, I recommend a pair of web events coming up after Discover that will discuss some of these same topics.

The pursuit of happiness through a ticketless help desk - June 19th, 2014 @ 10am PT/1pm ET

Relevant Knowledge Management – taking self-service to the next level - June 25th, 2014 @ 10am PT/1pm ET. Industry luminary George Spalding from Pink Elephant will be co-presenting.

I hope to see you in Vegas. Reach out and we can discuss the latest in ITSM. Find me, and I’ll buy you a cup of (real) coffee or a beer.

Discover was my first exposure to Service Anywhere, and I have to say I liked what I saw!

(no pun intended)

I like this comment even better if it is a pun. Per the original post, there are a couple of nice short (5-6 minute) videos on www.hp.com/go/serviceanywhere. And if seeing is really believing, you can also try out the (free) trial.

The more I hear back on Service Anywhere, the proactive delivery of knowledge to all different roles is the Wow factor. The ease of use, configuration, and on-going administration is the foundation.
