36 reasons to upgrade to HP Service Manager 9.3!

I assume that you have probably read and seen this before - something like “What’s new in HP Service Manager 9.32”. I do not want to specifically discuss the latest release but rather look at HP Service Manager 9.3 in its entirety. By doing this, and looking with a fresh perspective, I find a lot of new capabilities like the service request catalog, knowledge management, process designer, mobility, collaboration and integrations.

If you are looking for more detailed information, I recommend you read "Agility, mobility and user-centric IT: new release of HP Service Manager 9.32 is now available". It’s 9.32-specific but touches on some key new capabilities that already have been introduced with HP Service Manager 9.30 or 9.31.

 

Motivations to move to HP Service Manager 9.3

To figure out what the real motivations are to move to Service Manager 9.3 I ran a short survey. From this survey I collected almost 500 answers from about 60 respondents. As part of the survey I asked:

  • Which of the following factors, functionalities and capabilities of Service Manager influenced you the most to migrate/upgrade to HP Service Manager 9.3x Software?
  • Which of the following improvements and/or benefits have you achieved from migrating/upgrading to Service Manager?
  • How long did it take you to migrate/upgrade to Service Manager 9.3?TechValidate.png

Some key survey results

  • The most prominent reason for migrating/upgrading to Service Manager 9.3 was, guess what: “product version obsolescence”, which was selected by 50 percent of the respondents. This was closely followed by “The new service request catalog portal” with a 44 percent response rate.
  • The largest improvement/benefit achieved was “Increased customer satisfaction and/or end-user experience”, selected by 67 percent of respondents. It looks like this correlates with the service catalog portal, something the testimonial supports.
  • 30 percent said that the migration took 3 months or less.
