2 weeks left until HP Software Universe 2010 in Washington DC -- ITFM

It's hard to believe there's only 2 weeks left until HP Software Universe 2010 in Washington DC.  (June 15th-18th)

This year, I will be participating in the IT Financial Management track. We have a great track this year with many fantastic user stories accompanied by some amazing ROI.

If you have not registered for HP Software Universe, you still have time to register

IT Financial Management Description:  Learn how you can use detailed, accurate financial measurements to manage your IT expenditures effectively and communicate the value of the services you provide to your business. We’ll tell you how to run IT like a business within the business, using financial management tools built to measure the dimensions of cost, efficiency, and value that are peculiar to IT.

You’ll hear about:

  • Managing portfolios across projects and programs to make sure that standard methodologies are applied and that decisions are made, projects ranked, and work scheduled on criteria such as business value and ROI

  • Tracking assets from request through retirement, showing what assets are owned, where they came from, and who is using them

  • Linking to enterprise financial systems to automatically reconcile invoices and fixed-asset records

  • Collecting incremental data to track TCO and tracking business services as well as discrete assets

  • Strategically managing the entire scope of IT investments, making it possible to focus resources on innovation

Technical level: CIOs and IT and LOB directors and managers, most sessions beginner to intermediate level
