I have a HP Pavilion 513c that I want to put in more memory. It has 256mb at this time. Anyone have any idea what the max if for RAM this computer will handle?
Also, I need to know if I can use a true Pentium CPU and trash this Celeron thats in it now. It is a 1.8Ghz & I have read elsewhere that I can go up to a 2.6 or so. Anyone know for sure?

Looks like you can do 2GB memory:

I wouldn't both with the processor upgrade in this computer. I've tried it in a similar computer with the same chipset. Changing to P4 from Celeron made very little real-world difference. The bottleneck is the Intel 845GL chipset.

Typo...should read, "I wouldn't bother".
I can't see why HP thinks it's so important to not have an edit function on this forum.

Memory will make more differance to the apparent speed of the machine than the processor speed an Example I am running a 450 MHZ PIII with 512MB of RAM and it will open an open office in about 1/2 the time that a 2.4GHZ Celeron with 224 MB. a Virus scan will take forever but it works. Here is the www.crtucial page for your machine. http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model= Pavilion+513c
