low memory

Hi,
I have yet to download any thing onto my iPAQ and a box keeps coming up stating that my storage memory is low and I have to close programs. I am pretty sure I don't have any programs running since I did not download any. How do I either increase my stroage memory space or keep this box from appearing?

Thanks.

Re: low memory

When you click on 'X' in top right hand corner, this doesn't stop the program - it just closes the screen and leaves the program running in the background. To see what programs are running, press the iTask button, which is the lower right hand button. This will show you all programs that are running. Now click and hold on one of them - you can now choose to stop this program or all programs.

Re: low memory

Hi Christopher,

You may have tied up your memory by keeping built-in progranms running in the background. Go: Start Menu -- Settings -- System -- Memory -- Running Programs to check if this is the case. If if it, choose either Stop All, or select the ones you want to stop and stop them individually.

If this was the case, you should remember that for most programs, clicking the "X" in the menu bar doesn't quit the program, it merely sends it to the background. You need to choose an explicit Quit/Exit command (if there is one), or go to Running Programs to stop it and reclaim the memory.

I hope this helps.

Re: low memory

Hi Marc - I'm sorry, I really don't mean to jump in so quick.

Re: low memory

I have the same problem suddenly on my iPaq RX-3715.

The [Running Programs] is empty.

I have not added any programs in a year.

In any event, I deleted a downloaded program with a large amount of data.  This did not help.

Thank you.
