Attending HPSWU is a 'Quickening' experience

by David Moses

I'm back home and finishing up my blog assignment.

We had two sessions early this morning and then caught the flight back to Atlanta.

David-Headshot-160.jpgIt's been a great week. I've learned a ton.

I think we're all looking forward to catching up on sleep this weekend, but being able to attend an event like this makes it more than worth a few hours of lost shut eye. I've always told people that there's so much stuff packed into these few days. I don't think they understand until they go themselves.

Thank you again to all the people we've been lucky enough to meet this week. It's great to walk down the hallways and see so many friendly faces. I'm looking forward to seeing you next year.

As busy as our work can get, I think attending HPSWU is a "Quickening" experience. It's so easy to get in a "rut" in our daily work. When you get an opportunity to see what others are doing in their work, and you have such passionate discussions around ideas, you take so much of that inspiration back with you to your own work, and inspiration is invaluable.

Wednesday - The Presentation

by David Moses - Our session title is "Deliver projects up to 50% faster using HP QuickTest Professional & HP Quality Center". I had received an email from Heather letting us know that we were the 3rd most signed up for presentation of the entire show behind the QC Roadmap and the BTO Applications Test Drive (glad we prepped!).

Mainstage and Roundtables

by David Moses - For those of you who schedule sessions but not Roundtables, you're missing out. I go back to what I said yesterday about HP being passionate about discussing what you like or don't like about what they make...

Customer Advisory Board meeting

by David Moses - This discussion makes it obvious that this group is incredibly passionate about getting it right, are invested in delivering the best products possible, and really want our feedback.

My Sunday at HP Software Universe

by David Moses
Hi, I'm David Moses, Delta's QA manager for the Self Service products like delta.com, kiosk, and mobile.
It's been quite a bit of preparation and anticipation this year for HPSU. John Bell, our Senior Test Engineer and I are presenting Wednesday and we really wanted things to go smoothly. For the past two three weeks we've been locking ourselves away in a conference room every other day at 5pm and rehearsing our presentation. It makes you feel a bit silly talking to an empty room, but the way we look at it, if people are going to give you the gift of their time, you owe it to them to be prepared.
I've got the Customer Advisory Board meeting starting at 8:45 tomorrow morning. After John and I grab dinner I read through the presentation one more time. Of course the plan is to be in bed early, but that never seems to work out for me so it's 1 am before that actually happens.
After John I and grabbed dinner I sat down with the bag of candy bars HP gave us for participating in this blog (it was a really nice surprise) and read through the presentation one more time.
